Ed is in Ukraine.

Ed is learning Russian.

Крякать, Крякать!”

Ed’s First Visit to a Ukrainian Home was an exciting event for all concerned.  It turns out that the home he is living in sits on a large lake.  When he arrived the lake was frozen and Ed was content to sit inside and warm himself in front of the battery (radiator).  When spring came to his new country, Ed wanted to get outside and talk to his fellow ducks.  Ed was crushed because he could not understand what they were saying.   You see Ed had spent his cold weather time brushing up on Ukrainian but when he went outside, he found that the ducks in this neighborhood spoke Russian.  To make matters worse he was told that he would soon be heading off to a part of Ukraine that spoke only Russian and Tartar.

Ed is currently inside the house working on his Russian so he will better be able to meet with his Russian counterparts.

Ed was excited to know that he was to be living near the sea.  It frustrated him to live on a lake knowing he would never be able to swim in it.  He was almost tempted to throw off his armor and go for a lazy swim.   At the sea side, he will not be tempted to throw off the mantle of knighthood, because the sea is not a place for ducks, especially smallish yellow ones.
